Nicolás composed & conducted new music for Omega Watch unveiling at Walt Disney Concert Hall

A little dream I've had for a while has come true...

I had the absolute great fortune of composing and conducting two new original pieces of music with a fantastic orchestra of LA’s finest musicians at Walt Disney Concert Hall here in downtown Los Angeles for the unveiling of two master timepieces by the Omega Watch Company.

The Omega Orchestra ready for rehearsal at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, CA.

Omega unveiled two new watches, The Speedmaster Chrono Chime and the Olympic 1932 Chrono Chime. Both pieces are works of art and an evolution in micro-acoustics and micro-engineering. The estimated value of each of these watches is around $450,000 USD.

Raynald Aeschlimann, the CEO of Omega, giving the musicians an up-close-and-personal account on the unique qualities of the timepieces.

Nicolás Repetto, composer & conductor with violinist & our concertmaster, Rebecca Schlappich-Charles, listening to Raynald Aeschlimann, CEO of Omega, as he speaks about the watches.

The piece I composed for the reveal of these two beautiful watches is titled, The Sound of Omega. The music was inspired by the elegance and acoustic properties of these revolutionary new timepieces. The music starts with an ostinati that drives the music forward and can be heard throughout as the music evolves while an elegant theme representing the sound of Omega enters in the high strings and WW. The piece continues to evolve layering more of the orchestra until the climax. It is written for winds, brass, harp, percussion, and strings.
